If you think about it, pearls are kind of gross. If you don't think about it though, they're quite nice. But then you remember that they're essentially oyster spit. And oysters are essentially ocean boogers that live inside rocks. Really, it's amazing that something as ugly as an oyster can make something as elegant as a pearl.
